fbe Event
On 26 February 2025, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) launched a 12 week consultation on its Construction Products Reform Green Paper in response to the Grenfell Inquiry and the Independent Review of Product Testing and Certification (the Morrell-Day Review). This paper proposes significant and farreaching reforms aimed at improving safety, accountability, and fostering innovation within the construction industry.
Following the success of our Get London Building event in January 2025 (and with the consultation period due to close on 21 May 2025), join the FBE London Committee representatives from MHCLG, the Office for Product Safety Standards, the Construction Products Association and Construction Product Information Limited (guardians of the Code for Construction Product Information) for a unique opportunity to explore the implications of these reforms. Our panel will be discussing key questions such as:
- What does this mean for the direction of travel in the industry and our ability to Get Britain Building?
- What does this mean for the regulation, specification and use of construction products?
- Unlike with the Building Safety Act, the reforms will impact the sector as a whole (be it the construction of homes, buildings or infrastructure): what can the industry be doing now to start preparing for these changes?
Crucially, this has cross-sector impact for manufacturers, distributors, importers, off and online marketers, specifiers, designers, developers, contractors and sub-contractors, installers, funders and insurers.
