Addleshaw Goddard and BCL Legal are delighted to invite you to our seminar at Addleshaw Goddard's Leeds office.

Members of Addleshaw Goddard's Commercial Disputes team have been instructed in a "neutral" capacity by the UK Government's Dept for Business and Trade to evaluate applications for ex gratia payments made by Claimants in the settled Group Litigation (brought by Alan Bates and others) for "top up" compensation to, hopefully, give the subpostmasters full and fair compensation for the loss and damage suffered.

Given that role we are uniquely placed to discuss lessons learnt from the scandal. The talk will be given by members from our investigations, employment and commercial disputes teams and will include:

  • The background to the Post Office Horizon scandal
  • The role of the lawyers in the scandal
  • SRA Regulatory background and action now being taken as a result
  • Application of that to the role of in-house teams and the tensions they operate under
  • Investigations lessons learnt (and new SRA investigations guidance)
  • Employment law considerations
  • What next?

Addleshaw Goddard is ranked in the top tiers for Regulatory Investigations and Corporate Crime, Employment and Commercial Litigation in the Legal 500 and Chambers directories.

Questions from the audience will be encouraged.

Please RSVP using the button below. As always, places will be given on a first come basis.

We look forward to seeing you there.
