Immigration Service Delivery (“ISD”) has announced that any Irish Residency Permissions due to expire between 20 July 2020 and 20 August 2020 will be automatically renewed for a period of 1 month.
This renewal will replicate the existing permission and the same conditions will apply.
This includes any non-EEA nationals who previously benefitted from the automatic renewal announcements in March 2020 and May 2020 and who now have a new expiry date between 20 July 2020 and 20 August 2020. These individuals will also have their Irish Residency Permission extended by 1 further month.
This is intended to be the final temporary extension; however, the situation will remain under review during the evolving COVID-19 crisis.
Also, we would like to reiterate that The Burgh Quay Registration Office will reopen on 20 July 2020 to facilitate Dublin-based non-EEA nationals requiring first time immigration registration in the State. This will operate on a strictly appointment basis only.
The Garda Naturalisation and Immigration Bureau (“GNIB”), who process applications for non-EEA nationals located outside of Dublin through national immigration offices remain temporarily closed. Applicants are encouraged to check with their local office in order to obtain information on reopening details.
