Procurement Act 2023 delayed to February 2025

To The Point
(2 min read)

The Procurement Act 2023 will now come into force on 24 February 2025.

Further to recent speculation, Cabinet Office has confirmed its intention to delay the commencement of the Procurement Act 2023. Subject to updated commencement Regulations being passed, the Procurement Act is now expected to come into force on 24 February 2025.

Cabinet Office has confirmed that the delay will allow it to produce a new National Procurement Policy Statement that reflects the Government's priorities for public procurement, whilst allowing for a smoother and more effective implementation process for both contracting authorities and suppliers. The new NPPS will replace the statement published in May 2024.
