The Law Commission has launched a consultation to reform the right to renew business tenancies under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 (LTA 1954). The consultation asks whether business tenants should have a legal right to a renewal tenancy after their existing tenancy expires and, if so, how this should operate. In this briefing we focus on the pros and cons of the four proposed models to assist with reaching an informed decision should you wish to respond to the consultation which closes on 19 February 2025.
