Scaling up private investment in the environment - The Woodland and Peatland Carbon Code
Climate change is a global problem; solving it will require action from all sectors of economy. To coincide with the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai, we have prepared a series of Climate Insights from lawyers across different practice areas who explore how we can Decarbonise – Faster – Together.
As businesses come under more and more pressure from board members and customers alike to meet ESG and carbon neutrality commitments, voluntary carbon markets and schemes such as those under the Woodland Carbon Code and the Peatland Carbon Code have an increasing role to play. Providing opportunities for offsetting emissions as well as habitat restoration and creation, projects under these codes are becoming increasingly attractive. In this podcast we will discuss the key requirements of the codes and highlight some of the benefits afforded by these projects.
