Addleshaw Goddard's competition team has advised BAKO North Western (Group) Limited, the Preston-based bakery distributor, on their acquisition of BAKO Northern and Scotland

The team, led by Partner Phil McDonnell alongside Sarah Bollard, advised on the competition law aspects of the merger, including gaining merger clearance from the Competition and Markets Authority.

The deal, which was financed by HSBC, will help BAKO North Western target business opportunities in the Northern and Scottish markets, and will allow the business to continue to invest in the UK baking industry.
