Addleshaw Goddard is adding a highly regarded Leveraged Finance and corporate banking expert to its City Banking practice. Peter Crichton joins from US firm McDermott Will & Emery, having previously been a partner at each of CMS and DLA.
Peter has over 20 years' experience acting for lenders and borrowers in syndicated, leveraged and structured finance transactions as well as restructurings. His client portfolio is extensive including major banks, financial institutions and Private Equity firms.
Led by Alex Dumphy, Addleshaw Goddard's Leveraged Finance team is one of the most active in the mid-market, enjoys panel positions with all the UK clearing banks, as well as acting for debt funds and is active on the borrower side with Private Equity sponsors, as well as management teams.
Peter's skills, experience and client relationships are hugely complimentary according to Amanda Gray, Addleshaw Goddard Finance and Projects Division Managing Partner, who said:
"The Leveraged Finance market is becoming increasingly fractured with an ever-growing number of lenders, and we have seen a proliferation in debt funds.
"Peter's appointment provides necessary band-width to win new market share across the broad spectrum of this market, as well as additional resource to combine with our award-winning Private Equity team on sponsor-side transactions. He is one of the best in his specialist field whose arrival will help to enhance our reputation, diversify our client base and continue moving our business up the value chain."
