Addleshaw Goddard has hired technology expert Dr Nathalie Moreno from Lewis Silkin into its market-leading data and information practice based in London, adding new international capabilities.
Nathalie is an experienced commercial lawyer, who advises technology-enabled businesses, from multinational clients to start-ups, on IT transactions, commercial agreements and privacy both in Europe and globally.
Her particular area of expertise is advising multinational clients on UK, French and EU data protection, privacy and cyber security issues – including on UK and multi-jurisdictional compliance programmes and audit projects.
Addleshaw Goddard's Data Team, a key part of the Commercial practice, has experienced significant growth with the addition of data partner, Ross McKenzie from Burness Paull, in 2018 to oversee UK data work alongside our Head of Data, Helena Brown.
Nathalie is dual qualified in the UK and France, and has been advising clients across a range of sectors for twenty years on EU data protection and cyber security issues – under both English and French law. She has practiced in several jurisdictions including Belgium, France, USA and the UK and is currently the only dual qualified Technology Media and Telecommunications partner (France-UK), based in London.
Helena Brown, Head of Data, said: "Data is now a vital asset for businesses of any size. However, the use of that information is subject to complex legal regimes, especially when trading across borders. The AG team is made up of specialists from a number of fields, giving us a huge knowledge base to draw upon, in order to deliver the broadest possible range of services to our clients. Our offering is genuinely UK-wide with data experts servicing clients across all of our UK offices.
"We are constantly looking to expand our team's capabilities and this hire is another step in developing our offering. Nathalie brings with her an unparalleled level of experience in UK and French law and has advised on multinational projects across the world. We are delighted to welcome her to the team, and look forward to working with her."
