Firm confirms 2024 relocation to iconic building in the heart of the City's Financial District.

Addleshaw Goddard is moving its London office base from Milton Gate, which it has occupied since 2009, to 41 Lothbury - a prestigious building located right in the heart of the financial district opposite the Bank of England.  The move is scheduled for 2024 and will see more than 600 AG employees occupying the c.130,000 square foot Grade II-listed building.

41 Lothbury, formerly a bank's headquarters, consists of a listed façade and iconic Banking Hall at its entrance which will be totally transformed into a modern, hospitality style reception by real estate company Pembroke and construction partner Wates Construction. AG will occupy eight floors of the building on a 15-year lease, taking the total occupancy to c.114,000 square feet - a slight increase on the space currently occupied in its Milton Gate premises with the opportunity to completely reinvent how the firm's workspace can be reconfigured for the future world of working.

Pembroke's total reconfiguration of 41 Lothbury will see the iconic premises transformed into a space fit for the needs of the modern day and is supported by a commitment to sustainability and operating efficiency. The refurbishment will be a prime example of working within an existing building structure to majorly enhance an office space whilst reducing carbon emissions. Throughout the enhancement works Wates Construction will be reusing materials, while the building will become all-electric with air sourced heat pumps as it looks to achieve NABERS accreditation.  It is intended that 41 Lothbury will also secure a BREEAM Excellent rating and have a Platinum Wired Score.

The building will feature best-in-class amenities including roof terraces on floors seven and eight, offering spectacular views of the City's skyline for dedicated use by the firm and its clients, as well as 3,500 square foot of basement space to house a new fitness studio, cycle and shower facilities.

John Joyce, Managing Partner, said: "This is a really exciting move for us. Our new HQ and the client experience there will capture the imagination of our people and provide an inspiring space, with amazing credentials, for current and future generations of AG. We wanted to create the best possible environment for collaboration while also factoring in future growth in a more modern building configuration with better environmental credentials than our current space provides and 41 Lothbury will tick all the boxes. London has delivered impressive growth for us and, in our new HQ within a historic building in the heart of London's financial district, we will have the opportunity to grow further. The move underpins our continued ambition to service our great clients from a fantastic City which is instrumental in supporting our global platform."
