Addleshaw Goddard has hired Simon Pollock as a partner within its Investment Management Group (IMG), building on the firm's offer as a leading advisor on corporate real estate transactions.
Simon, who specialises in real estate M&A and joint-ventures, previously worked for Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner and will join Addleshaw Goddard in July. His practice has focused on buying and selling corporate vehicles (onshore and offshore), often through complex structures, and establishing joint-ventures and management arrangements between real estate fund platforms and investors. Previous clients have included some of the UK's largest institutional investment houses, private equity businesses and family offices.
His recent experience includes work on advising fund managers and investors in connection with the establishment of and/or investment into unlisted real estate funds, as well as joint ventures and major corporate acquisitions and disposals.
Addleshaw Goddard's IMG is known for its big-ticket real estate deals, including multi-billion pound transactions within the Battersea Power Station redevelopment area in London, as well as high profile mandates in the ESG space, particularly around forestry investment, energy infrastructure and health tech – for clients such as Par Equity. The group last year hired real estate heavyweight Daniel Woolston from Greenberg Traurig and recently promoted Liam Diggins to its partnership, making it one of the largest mid-market investment teams in the UK legal sector.
Earlier this year, AG's investment management team was voted "Fund Structuring Law Firm of the Year" at the Private Equity Wire Awards and was a finalist for "Funds Team of the Year" at The Lawyer Awards.
Simon's appointment is the latest in a string of major partner hires for Addleshaw Goddard, which includes Paul Chaplin and Paul Ferguson (Disputes), Claire Edwards (Commercial), Simon Gwynne (Asset Finance), Elisabeth Marrache (IP) and Rachel Scott (IPE).
Yunus Seedat, Divisional Managing Partner, Corporate and Commercial at Addleshaw Goddard, said:
"Simon is an experienced and well-known name in the corporate real estate M&A and JV space. He comes with an extensive range of clients that will both strengthen our existing relationships and unlock new opportunities.
"Our team in IMG has shown strong and sustained growth over the past few financial years. Simon joins a well-rounded team that is making its name as the go-to practice for mid-market and emerging GPs spanning a broad spectrum of international mandates across PE, private equity real estate, infrastructure and debt."
