Following the creation in September and October of the competition/distribution and finance departments, headed respectively by Michaël Cousin and Julien Bacus, Addleshaw Goddard is continuing its growth in Paris by welcoming Georges-Louis Harang to create the distressed business law practice and strengthen the commercial litigation department.
Georges-Louis Harang advises on all aspects of insolvency law. He assists companies in distress, both directors and shareholders, on mitigation procedures (ad hoc mandate or conciliation) and also on safeguarding, recovery and/or judicial liquidation. He also provides creditors' rights advice in relation to insolvency.
Georges-Louis also acts on takeovers of assets of companies in difficulty, and will be working alongside the AG M&A team, in particular Antoine Martin and Mathieu Taupin.
In addition to his insolvency expertise, Georges-Louis regularly acts in commercial litigation, advising and representing companies in the industrial, service and retail sectors, both in mediation and before civil and commercial courts. His appointment will significantly strengthen this practice which he now co-manages alongside Cécile Terret, whose practice is increasingly focused on compliance and internal investigations.
"In line with Addleshaw Goddard's global strategy, the Paris office will become a multidisciplinary firm. The creation of a department dedicated to distressed companies and insolvency proceedings is in line with this objective. Georges-Louis' ability to act for French and international clients is an undeniable asset that fits perfectly with the firm's vision of its future development" said Rémy Blain, Head of Office of Addleshaw Goddard in Paris.
"Addleshaw Goddard is in a phase of sustained development since its opening in France in February 2021, and contributing to this is a real challenge. This is combined with the enthusiasm of joining a dynamic and human team", says Georges-Louis Harang, partner in the corporate and commercial litigation department of Addleshaw Goddard.
