Addleshaw Goddard advises LDC on investment in wind turbine specialists
International law firm Addleshaw Goddard has advised leading private equity investor LDC on a significant investment in Boston Energy, a technical services provider to the wind energy industry.
Boston Energy, based in Beverley, East Yorkshire, employs and trains specialist technicians to support the build and maintenance programmes of onshore and offshore wind farms across the globe, including in Europe, APAC and North America and is targeting further international expansion.
The Addleshaw Goddard team advising LDC on the investment included Richard Hunt, Carly Gulliver, Dave Parker, Caera Loughran, Aidan Barry Nazaneen Ahmadi, Aprille Lou (Corporate), Martin Griffiths (Tax), Andy Fordham, Jen Hanson and Philippa McCarthy (Banking), working alongside colleagues in Germany and Ireland.
Richard Hunt said: "The transition to net zero is at front of mind for everyone and businesses such as Boston Energy are supporting that change, so we are delighted to assist LDC on a deal which will enable Boston to take its first-class services to an evolving global market. It's great to support the success of a Yorkshire business in such an important sector."
Boston Energy’s client base includes the world’s biggest OEMs and Wind Farm Operators and it was recently awarded a significant new contract to support the Dogger Bank Wind Farm in the North Sea, the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
