International law firm Addleshaw Goddard continues its client-led expansion in Germany: A renowned team of seven lawyers will strengthen the German energy law practice as of January 2024. Among those are three strategic partner hires, Dr. Boris Scholtka, Dr. Laurenz Keller-Herder and Eric Glattfeld. Together with counsel Karl Holtkamp and three associates, they will join from EY Law.

Dr. Boris Scholtka advises clients from the energy sector and energy-intensive industry on all issues of German and European energy, renewable energy as well as regulatory and antitrust law for 25 years. His areas of expertise include projects related to the energy and heat transition, generation projects and PPAs, district heating and hydrogen ramp-up issues. He has extensive experienced in contract negotiations and primarily conducts court proceedings. He also serves as an arbitrator and mediator. Boris headed the German energy practice at EY Law and was EMEIA Co-Leader for ESG Due Diligence.

Karl Holtkamp supports companies in all matters of energy law and in sector-specific transactions. He has extensive experience in advising companies on power plant projects, in particular on issues relating to the German Energy Act (EnWG), Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) and Combined Heat and Power Act (KWKG), as well as on mergers and energy supply contracts. They will be accompanied by their team; associates Alessandra Freyer and Paulina Werner will also be based in Berlin and Franziska Rothe in Hamburg. The team has worked together in this formation for many years.
