Catherine Williams has been appointed as Co-head of Addleshaw Goddard's Real Estate "Living" business.

Catherine, who completed her training contract with AG and previously worked with the firm for 13 years, is highly experienced in leading complex transactions for real estate clients. She previously worked as a Partner at Shoosmiths, leading the firm's Living sector business—which she spearheaded and grew significantly—as well as advising on various housing and hotels projects.

Addleshaw Goddard's Living business, which Catherine will lead alongside Peter Hardy, oversees all of the firm's work in the international housing market, including later living, student accommodation, affordable housing and built-to-rent. Recent projects for the team include advising Vita on a £191m funding deal for two co-living towers in the centre of Manchester.

Since January 2021, AG has made five additional lateral hire partner appointments within its real estate and construction teams (Alex Hirom, Gordon Anderson, Daniel Sweeney, Daniel Woolston and Clarissa Smith).

AG has recently opened four new offices (Dublin, Luxembourg, Frankfurt and Munich) and in August reported a gross revenue increase of 18%. Addleshaw Goddard currently represents 48 FTSE100 clients and has been ranked within the top ten of the Thompson Reuter's UK Law Firm Brand Index.

Catherine Williams, Partner and Co-head of Living at Addleshaw Goddard, said:

"Returning to AG is incredibly exciting: reassuringly familiar but demonstrably a bigger and better firm from ten years ago. I am absolutely thrilled to be back and ambitious to play my part in the further growth and expansion of the Living team."

Peter Hardy, Partner and Co-head of Living at Addleshaw Goddard, said:

"Catherine is an extremely high-regarded real estate lawyer who also has a great depth of knowledge about the challenges and opportunities of the Living sector.

"I worked with Catherine when she was previously with AG and am really glad to have her back at the firm."
