AG advises OCU Group on the acquisition of R J McLeod in latest step in growth story

An AG team led by Paul Medlicott and Ben Davies has advised leading energy transition and utilities infrastructure services company OCU Group on the acquisition of RJ McLeod, one of Scotland's largest privately owned civil engineering contractors. The transformative deal is the latest in a series of 11 acquisitions completed by OCU Group since being acquired by leading European private equity firm Triton Partners in August 2022.

RJ McLeod has been operating for over 70 years delivering complex civil engineering solutions to a wide range of clients in Scotland. In recent years the business has increasingly focused on renewable energy, including onshore wind developments such as the Viking and South Kyle wind farms, battery storage and hydro-electric projects, as well as in grid and substation construction. The move therefore further enhances OCU’s market position in the renewable energy sector and underlines the group's ambition to lead the way in the UK’s energy transition delivery.

The AG team comprised, amongst others, Paul Medlicott, Ben Davies, Beth Nixon and Melissa Chaplow (Corporate), Gillian Hutchison and Hannah Magrath (Employment) and Heather Gibson (Tax).
