Addleshaw Goddard advises Seaya on the close of "Seaya Andromeda", the largest climate tech fund in southern Europe

The law firm Addleshaw Goddard has advised Seaya on the incorporation of Seaya Adromeda, its growth equity fund for companies focused on the development of technologies to fight climate change. After formalizing its closing with investment commitments of €300 million, Seaya Andromeda stands as the largest vehicle in southern Europe focused on the climate tech sector.

Investors in this new fund include, among others, Iberdrola, Nortia, Santander, BNP Paribas Group, Next Tech-ICO and BPI France. Seaya Andromeda is also, to date, the largest private equity fund for growing companies in Spain.

The Funds team that has advised Seaya has been led by the partner and head of the Funds team in Spain, Isabel Rodríguez, with the collaboration of counsel María de Orueta and associates María Mata and Lara Taylor.

Isabel Rodríguez says:

"We are delighted to accompany Seaya in this fund, the largest in southern Europe, which demonstrates, once again, the solidity and relevance of Spanish private equity firms. As we have been able to observe in recent months, the technology sector aimed at achieving zero emissions targets is one of the most important in Europe and its importance will continue to increase in the short-medium term."

The fund plans to invest in some 25 companies, Spanish and European, with tickets of between 7 and 40 million euros. Its strategy also foresees co-investment with other growth equity or private equity funds.
