Addleshaw Goddard Advises Litica Founders on Sale to PIB Group

Addleshaw Goddard has advised Stephen Bolster ACII, Steve Ruffle and other shareholders of Litica, a leading litigation insurance provider, on its sale to PIB Group.

Founded in London in 2019 by Stephen Bolster and Steve Ruffle, Litica has grown rapidly, expanding into Australia, the United States, and Germany. As a Managing General Agent, Litica provides a range of insurance-backed solutions for private and corporate clients engaged in litigation and arbitration. With an extensive panel of insurer backers and Lloyd’s coverholder status, Litica has significant underwriting capacity, allowing it to support complex, high-value litigation.

Stephen Bolster, co-founder of Litica, commented:

"Over the past six years, we have established Litica as the UK's leading provider of specialist litigation insurance and are now replicating that success in international markets. Joining PIB Group, with its entrepreneurial approach and ambitious vision, provides the platform we need to accelerate our growth while continuing to deliver the high-quality, specialist service our clients expect."

Tom Crill, Managing Associate at Addleshaw Goddard, added:

The deal was led by Corporate partner Chris Taylor and Managing Associate Tom Crill. They were supported by Ciarán Ferry, Sarah Harrop, Constanza Ceccetti, Zoe Fatchen, Euan Mills, Jonathan Fletcher Rogers, Adam Kobeissi, Natalia Stutze, Hubertus Schröder.
