Addleshaw Goddard recruits new Partner to strengthen Insolvency Disputes team

International law firm Addleshaw Goddard has recruited insolvency litigation specialist Sophia Harrison as a Partner in Restructuring, focusing on its insolvency dispute resolution (IDR) practice.

Sophia is dual qualified in England & Wales as a barrister and in Scotland as a solicitor. She has a UK-wide practice focusing on corporate insolvency litigation, asset recovery and contentious corporate restructurings, including schemes of arrangement, restructuring plans, court ordered capital reductions and court approved business transfer schemes. She also has significant commercial litigation experience, most notably in corporate disputes with a specialism in the manufacturing and regulatory technology sectors.

Addleshaw Goddard has one of the largest Restructuring teams nationally, with more than 40 lawyers working on high profile matters in the UK and beyond, both contentious and non-contentious.

Sophia, who joins from Burness Paull and has practised in London, Guernsey and the Cayman Islands during her career, plays a prominent role in R3 (the Association of Business Recovery Professionals) as Chair of Policy Group and on Council, as well as the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), and regularly speaks at national and international events.

Sophia said: "Addleshaw Goddard has a fantastic platform both in the UK and internationally, with its global network of offices. It is deservedly recognised as a leading practice in the insolvency, restructuring and asset recovery space, undertaking complex, cross-border and high-quality work. This and its vision align perfectly with my own practice and I am very excited about the opportunity for growth that exists within what is an already stellar team.”
