Expertise
Robert is a Legal Director in the Disputes Group and is part of the Employment team in Ireland.
Robert has advised a wide range of domestic and international clients in disputes relating to banking and financial services, property and construction, personal injury, medical and professional negligence, commercial contracts, IP infringement, defamation, product liability and sale of goods claims.
He has extensive experience advising and representing employers and employees on all aspects of the employment relationship including contentious and non-contentious matters. He represents clients before the Workplace Relations Commission, the Labour Court and the civil courts in employment litigation such as unfair dismissal, transfer of undertakings, equality/discrimination, occupational stress, and health & safety.
Robert advises clients in relation to corporate transactions as well as in respect to drafting contracts of employment, executive service agreements, and workplace policies or procedures. He has guided clients through standalone and collective redundancy consultation processes. Clients have benefited from his advice when transferring employees from or to an acquired entity and Robert has also assisted clients during the synergising stage after the transaction has closed.
He regularly provides lectures to students of the Law Society’s Employment Diploma Centre, and he often delivers talks at various events to other practitioners, colleagues, and clients on various aspects of employment law.

Dispute Resolution
- One of the world’s largest medical device manufacturers in defence of High Court litigation issued against it regarding the alleged contribution of some of its products to injuries sustained by individuals.
- Europe's leading media and entertainment companies in protecting its copyright by seeking appropriate reliefs from the Courts.
- Property developers and contractors in pursuit or defence of High Court proceedings.
- A supplier of specialist surveying equipment and provider of construction consulting services in pursuit and defence of Circuit Court and High Court litigation seeking damages for alleged contractual breaches.
Employment
- A hotel group in relation to the progression of internal grievance and disciplinary processes arising from workplace incidents.
- A leading accounting firm in respect to defending claims submitted to the Workplace Relations Commission.
- An international retailer. Robert has represented this client before the Workplace Relations Commission against complaints raised by former employees.
- A parking management company on a range of contentious and non-contentious matters including equal status claims brought against it.
- Robert regularly advises well-established and internationally recognised companies in the tech sector on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters.
