Expertise
Liam is an associate in AG’s finance practice in Oman. Liam is a Scots Law qualified solicitor holding a Bachelor of Law with Honours from the University of Edinburgh and a Diploma in Profession Legal Practice from the University of Aberdeen. Liam has acted on several large project financings in Oman since moving from AGs Edinburgh office in 2022 and is developing a keen interest in infrastructure projects. During this time he has also gained a range of experience in Islamic and conventional financings, including; project finance, real estate finance, asset finance and corporate finance transactions
Prior to moving to AG's Muscat office, Liam completed his training contract based in our Edinburgh office which included a 6 month seat in our Muscat office where he began to gain his expertise in the Oman market. During his training contract Liam undertook seats in: (1) Infrastructure Project and Energy (Edinburgh, UK), (2) Banking and Finance (Muscat, Oman), (3) Restructuring (Edinburgh, UK) and (4) Banking and Financing (Edinburgh, UK).
Before beginning his training contract, Liam was a paralegal for AG primarily assigned to small scale transactions for large energy and gas suppliers across Scotland.

- Advising the syndicate of financiers on OMR 171,000,000 conventional and Islamic facilities to provided to Oman Broadband Company SAOC for fibre roll-out programme and network expansion throughout Muscat.
- Advising the syndicate of financiers on the refinancing of the conventional and Islamic facilities in relation to the Muscat Bay Project, Muscat.
- Advising the lender on OMR 86,000,000 term loan and working capital facilities to a large, Government backed, Omani company.
- Advising a cross-border syndicate of lenders on the USD 220,000,000 refinancing of a large hotel development project in Oman.
- Advising the financier on USD 87,000,000 Islamic financing facilities provided to local shipping companies for the financing of 3 ships.
