Lily is an Associate in the Commercial Services and Data Protection division in our Edinburgh office. Lily joined Addleshaw Goddard as an Associate in 2024, with previous practical experience in commercial disputes as a litigation solicitor. Lily's commercial practice focuses on the digital regulatory landscape and technology contracts. Lily has previous experience working as a legal consultant for a commercial law firm based in Paris, specialising in data protection. She also holds a certification from the Law Society of Scotland for data protection law.
Lily's recent experience includes:
• Providing data protection support for a significant strategic partnership project between two large financial services businesses, which involved data sharing to collaborate on the delivery of branded financial services products. Support included preparing data privacy compliance documents, impact assessing and engaging with operational teams to promote and negotiate data sharing, as well as contractual drafting for the data protection terms of the partnership.
• Assisting a large international law firm with its international data sharing arrangements, impact assessing high risk territories and preparing compliance documents to safeguard the transfers.
• Providing support on a project acting for 10 major financial institutions as joint clients to provide joint banking hubs to individuals, which involved significant numbers of customer data including vulnerable customers.
• Providing data protection help line support to a significant financial services client, providing contractual reviews and regulatory advice on artificial intelligence, data centre and digital transformation projects.
