Malcolm is a corporate lawyer with over 30 years’ of experience and is one of the leading corporate lawyers in Scotland. He advises many companies at a strategic level and always looking for deal making opportunities across the business world. His experience in the legal sector, as well as industry, is unrivalled and he is a leading figure in Scottish, and increasingly, UK business. Malcolm is senior partner of the firm in Scotland and is a member of the firm’s UK board.

Malcolm led HBJ Gateley to become a leading legal practice in Scotland, integrating with UK partners to create a national full service law firm as well as developing the firm to have a valuable international reach.

Malcolm is a non-executive director of many successful Scottish companies with a particular focus on fundraising and corporate affairs advice. He is a past vice chairman of the Scottish Solicitors' Discipline Tribunal and is currently a Judicial Panel Chairman for the Scottish Football Association. Malcolm is also the principal fundraiser for the Edinburgh-based Headway charity group.
