Struan has a range of experience advising clients on various commercial matters. He has a particular interest in the technology & AI, transport and sport sectors, and also often advises a variety of energy, healthcare and retail & consumer clients. Struan's expertise includes the drafting and negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts, from routine matters to complex and bespoke agreements. His work often involves issues such as the creation, protection and commercialisation of intellectual property rights, software licencing, outsourcing and data protection.

  • Advising a public healthcare provider on the re-procurement of its contact centre and CRM technology infrastructure, involving multi-party IP licensing and services arrangements.
  • Working on a variety of outsourced services and supply agreements for major UK retail companies and clients in the healthcare sector.
  • Advising a British fashion company in relation to the sale of its products in the US as part of its international growth strategy.
  • Negotiating intellectual property contracts including patent, trade mark, copyright and software licencing, and research and development agreements, for public and private sector clients.
  • Advising Everfox in relation to intellectual property and software licencing matters as part of its acquisition of the cybersecurity/tech company Garrison Technology.
  • Data protection remediation and compliance projects with a variety of clients based in the UK and the Middle East.
