Carlos Pazos is a founding Partner of the Madrid office. A lawyer with more than 30 years of experience, Carlos specialises in corporate and M&A, capital markets, private equity, M&A related litigation and international arbitration, and special situations. He regularly acts for both bidders and targets, advising them on all type of corporate deals such as acquisitions, disposals, private equity and venture capital investments and divestments, fund formation, takeovers, IPOs and corporate restructurings. 

Throughout his professional career Carlos has been involved in some of the major corporate deals in Spain, many of them with a high multi-jurisdictional feature (US, UK, France, Portugal, Brazil and China, among other countries).

Some of his clients are EDP Energias de Portugal, EDP Renovaveis, Galp, Vocento, Sonae, Portobello Capital, MCH Private Equity, Meriton Holdings, La Seda de Barcelona, Zeltia, Alantra, GED Capital, Mutua Madrileña, Novo Banco, Santander, BBVA, Deutsche Bank, First Sentier Investors, Saggas, Grupo Nicolás Correa, and Sovena. 

Carlos holds the position of Independent Director of the Board in the listed company PharmaMar and Secretary and Legal Advisor of the Board of Directors of Vocento.
