Expertise

Kyle is a partner with over ten years' experience in tax. His practice covers the whole range of UK tax issues that businesses encounter. He has a particular interest and expertise in real estate tax, advising on the acquisition, structuring, development, financing, and disposal of real estate, companies and trusts holding real estate, and funds investing in real estate. He also has considerable experience in M&A, including those led by private equity sponsors, private M&A, and public takeovers. 

Kyle has a particular interest in the development of tax policy and regularly contributes to Tax Journal. Kyle spent 6 years at Addleshaw Goddard before working at other leading City law firms and returning to Addleshaw Goddard as a partner. Kyle's recent experience includes:

  • Zegona's €5 billion acquisition of Vodafone's Spanish branch;
  • RBC's £1.6 billion takeover of Brewin Dolphin and GVC's £4 billion takeover of Ladbrokes Coral; 
  • the £1.5 billion acquisition of Battersea Power Station and the ongoing development of the site;
  • Inflexion's buy-out of dss+ valuing it at $500 million, its take private of DWF LLP for £342 million, and its joint venture with GlobalData valued at £1.1 billion;
  • Dandara's development and £400m sale of the UK's largest build-to-rent portfolio; and
  • Titan Trust Bank's $500 million acquisition of Union Bank of Nigeria.
