EXPERTISE

Ben is a Managing Associate in the Professional Practices Group and specialises in advising professional services clients, particularly those structured as limited liability partnerships (LLPs)or involving owner-managed businesses.  

Reflecting the breadth of the Professional Practice Group's client base, Ben advises clients in a range of sub-sectors, including law firms, accountancy firms, trade mark and patent attorneys, consulting engineers, financial advisers, fund managers and actuaries.  He has extensive experience of advising on the establishment of alternative business structure (ABS) law firms, complex international law firm structures and both onshore and offshore law firm networks. 

Ben regularly advises clients that are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), the Law Society of Scotland (LSS), the Intellectual Property Regulation Board (IPReg) and legal services regulators in other jurisdictions.  In addition to his work for clients of the Professional Practices Group, Ben supports Addleshaw Goddard's wider M&A and private equity (PE) practices on transactions involving LLPs, professional services or which require legal services regulatory advice.
