Catherine specialises in non-contentious work. She has experience acting for developers, contractors and consultants on a variety of commercial, residential and mixed-use construction projects. Catherine advises on procurement strategies and drafts and negotiates key construction contracts. This includes building contracts, professional consultant appointments, collateral warranties and related documents.
Catherine's recent experience includes:
- Acting for British Land in relation to its £3.5bn redevelopment of a 53-acre site at Canada Water in the London Borough of Southwark.
- Acting for British Land in respect of the fit-out of The Broadgate Tower within the Broadgate business district.
- Acting for a global investment management company on the development of a 63-storey skyscraper at 55 Bishopsgate (set to be the second tallest tower in the City of London and third tallest building in the UK).
- Acting for a leading developer, investor and asset manager in its capacity as construction manager on the redevelopment of a 785,000 sq ft office building at 70 Gracechurch Street in the City of London.
Catherine trained at the largest specialist construction and energy law firm in the UK, where she gained experience in contentious matters across a variety of dispute resolution forums, including international arbitration, litigation, and adjudication. Prior to joining Addleshaw Goddard, Catherine worked in the construction and engineering team at Herbert Smith Freehills in London, specialising in non-contentious construction.
