EXPERTISE
James has considerable experience in regulatory law and various aspects of commercial litigation. He has advised a variety of both national and international clients on litigation related matters including product liability, contractual disputes and professional negligence.
James has advised clients on regulatory matters, including professional conduct investigations, regulatory prosecutions and decision making, administrative law and legal proceedings. He has advised clients on aspects of alternative dispute resolution including arbitration and mediation.
James also has experience in corporate matters including oppression applications, derivative actions, shareholder disputes, applications to wind up companies and bankruptcy applications. He has represented financial institutions on various aspects including debt recovery proceedings, possession proceedings and applications to remediate security.

- Acting regularly for a statutory regulator in the exercise of their statutory functions relating to professional regulation
- Prosecuting an individual for holding himself out as a professional without having attained the requisite registration
- Acting for a statutory regulator on an appeal to the High Court arising out of a disciplinary action
- Acting for a large professional services firm in defending various judicial review proceedings over a fifteen year period
- Acting for an insurer on the case management of 850 High Court actions and the successful mediation of the dispute.
